Lore
We had never felt such unparalleled unity as we did during that final violent crescendo. As we inhabited the strange new limbs of our multifaceted form to fend off the encroaching mutations, our every action seemed pre-destined, our instincts honed to an impossible awareness. With each ebb, flow and eruption of our grand new body we settled further into a divine symmetry with her - our names forgotten, our follies rendered impotent, our purpose absolute.
At last cleansed of the star-crossed spawn that had shadowed us, she set to task subsuming those who sailed close to her signal. We had answered the call. We had offered her the blueprint. Our DNA, our memories, dreams and reflections – they formed the final shard she needed to know this world as her own. It was an understanding of boots and bones inhabited. Breathed. Lived. Forsaken.
What transpired next was not a matter of linearity. It was both glacial and instantaneous. The whole panoramic essence of this planet, from its promethean birth to its penultimate present, was revealed to us. In a blink this wisdom was absorbed, and in a second blink it was gone - as the Machina Arcana sought to supplant it with something simpler. It was an alchemy that we had enacted eternally - as world after world succumbed to our planet-hopping dance.
The waltz intensified now - as where there was once confusion, now calm reigned in serenity. Where there was once chaos, now control. Where there was once a grand and dizzying diversity, now all was perfect immutable symmetry. Cold, inert, complete.
A mirror of a million other worlds we had graced spun muted now, as it orbited a dying sun. Humanity erased- It would suffer no longer…nor would it dream. Its story had been told, and a bow had been tied upon its every possibility.
Our work here was done. The heavens yet beckoned. A million pinpricks of light, a million fireflies silhouetted against the sky. We would visit them all, enmesh them in forever and then begin again.
To eternity.
