The elders had called it a curse, but it never seemed so to Fréderiqué. It had first manifested before he had even learned to talk- an affinity with the unseen that gifted him a communion with his surroundings that could make objects dance to his will. “It is surely the work of demons!” came the cry from learned men - who swiftly conspired to smother him in his cradle and thus rid the village of all that his strange powers may yet have augured .

His parents had sped him into exile, desperate to save him from the machinations of the townsfolk. A turbulent childhood saw him ferried from hearth to home and stead to stable, as slowly but surely he unravelled the secrets of the telekinetic arts. As manhood came upon him he found solace in the arms of his new brethren at the House of Bliss, those who both coveted and understood his gifts – that he might now master them - and bind them to the great cause.
