Phillip entered his trade as a mere watchmaker’s apprentice, his dedication and persistence raising his reputation swiftly. Soon he had a craft shop of his own, where he devoted his life to the art of mending antique mechanisms.

One day, a strange trinket of unknown origin came to him. It seemed broken and without purpose, but he found it intriguing. Every night he studied it, exploring and observing its delicate mechanisms, only to find himself repeatedly at a loss. Eventually, upon cutting his finger on the delicate webbing of cogs, a few drops of his blood fell into the device. Thus activated, it began to swirl and turn, but more shocking were the terrible visions of the future it showed him. Such was the visceral horror that he saw, he was then determined to prevent that possible future.

Phillip soon sold his assets and quickly sought out others of like mind to combat the revelations he had seen that night.
