The cold that seized our camp in its iron grip never seemed to relax its perpetual hold on body and mind. As we caught sight of the stumbling figures approaching us from the entrance though, our hopes soared as we silently celebrated those brave explorers who had released this domain from death.

We thought it would end with the last breath of the final cultist - that the madness could be left behind us, trapped forever in this icy tomb. Abruptly, deep inside that hideous chasm, a horrifying pulse throbbed, bringing with it a quake so powerful that our very souls shook with the mountain. Our eyesight blurred, and peculiar shadows began to rise in our minds as our majestic visions of triumph immediately plummeted into the abyss.

The great beast, barely alive, and vile beyond our imaginings, continued its relentless journey toward the heart of the mountain.
