Severed and subdued- the great spider seemed to scream as in its demise it succumbed to a rapid liquification, mere seconds of hurried decay undoing what the aeons had conspired to create. Its pungent remnants were swiftly absorbed both by the walls of this fleshy chamber and our bodies themselves, as we feasted hungrily in an abominable act of nourishment.

In imbibing its essence, our transformations seemed to take on a renewed urgency. We found ourselves bound to our augmentations and each other, even as they morphed and twisted into new and serrated shapes in our trembling hands.

Once more, time seemed to lose its linearity as our descent continued for what could have been moments or lifetimes, insignificant as such concepts seemed to us now.

Set adrift in a sea of revelations we wandered amidst the most cavernous recesses of our minds, until our pupils finally snapped back into focus - alerted by the lurching halt of our descent and the piercing light of the opening doors.
